The book Persepolis is a very interesting and complicated story. The women are ordered to wear a veil over their heads as consequence for the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Marjane's mother was in the uprising against the veil and in one of the demostrations, a German journalist took a photo of her mother and published in all European newspapers. She had to dye her hair and wear shades to avoid the stares and looks of people in public. Marjane wants to be a prophet because she is very religious and keeps a close relationship with God. She wants to change the world. What I know about the rulers mentioned in this story is that some like Castro are Communist which are somewhat like Robin Hood but in an evil, corrupt way. Marjane learns that her grandfathers father was a prime minister and he was a communist himself. She becomes very upset that her family had ideas which she is totally against.
